What’s it all about?

Watercolour is a fun, fresh and flexible medium with heaps of contemporary applications. We will learn the basics of working with watercolour paints and how to create fun, simple and contemporary images with beautiful botanical themes.  We’ll also explore different brush strokes to achieve leaf and floral effects with your paints and begin your botanical art journey.

This class is ideal for beginners or anyone wanting to explore different watercolour styles.  So grab some pretty flowers or interesting foliage from the garden and let’s begin exploring how to capture their beauty in watercolours!

What will we cover?

  • This beginner’s painting class will focus on using watercolour and illustration skills
  • We’ll first start with a bit of colour theory and mixing watercolours
  • Then we’ll learn how to use the brushes to create different strokes ready to create your nature watercolour

What will you need?

  • Some thick paper (ideally watercolour paper)
  • Watercolours
  • Brushes and a glass of water
  • Some flowers, leaves or a nice plant

Who will be teaching?

Born in Melbourne and residing in Elwood, Chantelle Maree Tranchina is a living and breathing inspired artist, secondary and primary school teacher. She has a passion for learning (with four degrees!), teaching and helping others.

Her degrees include contemporary arts (literature and visual arts), bachelor of teaching (primary and secondary education), fashion design and also spiritual development/meditation/healing. Chantelle has recently completed her yoga teacher training and is now a practising and certified yoga teacher!

She is also absolutely addicted to travel and finds herself taking a trip overseas as often as possible! She looks forward to meeting you all and having a bit of light-hearted creative fun.
