Have you ever wondered what birds are flitting around your street or calling from the treetops? This fun and accessible class is designed to help you tune in to the world of birds—no binoculars or prior knowledge needed! You’ll walk away seeing your surroundings through a new lens (or beak?).

What will we cover?

In this introductory session, we’ll explore:

  • Why birds are awesome and how to start spotting them

  • How to identify common birds around Australian homes and parks

  • Understanding bird behaviour (Why is that magpie swooping?)

  • Tips for attracting birds to your garden or balcony

  • Fun tools & apps for beginners

  • How to turn everyday walks into birdwatching adventures

What will you need?

Just your eyes and ears! A pen and paper might help, but we’ll keep it light. Birdwatching is about observation and curiosity, not fancy gear.
