What’s it all about?
Step into a Danish Christmas kitchen and discover the flavours, traditions and cosy rituals of julehygge.
In this hands-on class, you’ll prepare two beloved Danish festive favourites: warming spiced gløgg and creamy risalamande — the indulgent king of rice puddings served with cherry sauce. You’ll also learn about the tradition of making Danish woven paper hearts (julehjerter), a much-loved Christmas decoration found on Danish trees during the festive season.
As you cook and create, you’ll hear the stories behind Danish Christmas customs — from the hidden almond game in risalamande to family gatherings, Advent traditions and the meaning of hygge beyond candles and blankets.
