Release and mobilise your hands, arms, shoulders and whole self.
We rely on our hands and arms to act and perform in the world- making, lifting, carrying, writing, scrolling, hugging, crafting… and so on. But limitations, tensions and unconscious restrictions creep in as we respond to the challenges and difficulties of life.
In this class you will fine tune the coordination of your hands, arms and whole being so you can move with precision, delicacy, grace and power, as may be required by the task in front of you.
What will we cover?
An introduction to the principles of the Feldenkrais system of movement learning and to human biomechanics.
We will then go through a systematic exploration of movements of the hands and arms to discover maximum efficiency and minimum effort and graceful coordination with the whole body.
The movements will be done sitting in a chair (but can also be done sitting and lying on the floor, if you prefer).
