Curious about Fusion belly dance but not sure where to begin? This welcoming beginner workshop is a chance to explore the beauty, strength, and expressive freedom of Fusion Belly Dance in a fun and supportive space.

Fusion Belly Dance blends fluid torso movements, grounded footwork, musicality, and expressive styling into a dance practice that feels empowering, playful, and deeply connected to the body. No dance experience needed—just bring your curiosity and enjoy moving in a new way

What will we cover?

In this beginner-friendly workshop, we’ll explore the foundations of Fusion Belly Dance through simple guided movement exercises and combinations. Together we’ll cover:

  • foundational belly dance posture and alignment

  • basic hip, chest and arm movements

  • layering movement with rhythm and musicality

  • expressive arm pathways and graceful transitions

  • a short beginner Fusion Belly Dance sequence to bring it all together

    Along the way we’ll focus on body awareness, confidence, and enjoying movement without pressure or perfection. This class is designed to feel fun, accessible, and empowering for every body.

Please bring:

comfortable clothes you can move easily in
a water bottle
bare feet or soft dance shoes/socks
optional: a hip scarf or scarf to tie around your hips for extra fun

No prior dance experience required.

Who will be teaching?

Chara Yang is a qualified movement therapist and a multidisciplinary dance artist whose work explores the intersection of body language, emotional expression, and human connection.

She has facilitated movement experiences in both artistic and community contexts, supporting people from all backgrounds to explore the unspoken language of the body. Alongside her facilitation work, she actively performs a range of dance styles across diverse platforms. Website/ Facebook
