What’s it all about?

Love retro, honky tonk music but don’t want to line dance? Like the idea of partner dancing but want something easy and not too showy (‘cos your partner doesn’t dance)? Then, this class is for you!  Bar-room two-step (Austin, Texas style) is a partner dance based very loosely on 1930s collegiate dance, but it looks a bit like swing. It’s easy to learn and fun to do.

What will we cover?

In this class, you will learn:
– to lead or follow
– basic rhythms
– about dance frame and connection (how to dance well with total strangers)
– some easy two-step moves and turns.

Who will be teaching?

Emma-Bee has been teaching adults to dance for ever! Her passion for southern roots music and dance (from Louisiana, Texas, Tex-Mex border, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina etc) has taken her from performing with live bands to specialising in teaching easy dance classes before live bands play. She formed Honky Tonk HQ to corral all of her favourite southern roots dance styles into a bubbling, melting pot of partner dance.  You can find her on Facebook at Honky Tonk HQ
