What’s it all about?
Before the wheel and harnessing the power of fire, our first human achievement was telling stories. The only thing that has changed is the way we tell them. We are now telling stories in ways we could not even imagine ten years ago! Learn how to harness the instantaneous and interactive power of Twitter to tell your next tale.
What will we cover?
We will look at different ways that writers and artists are using Twitter. We will examine how writers like Pulitzer Prize winner Jennifer Egan to novelist Christine Duval craft a tale in the Twitterverse. Learn how the 140 character limit is creating a new format for poetry, #Twihaike or #Micropoetry. There is also the exciting work of artists using Twitterbots to create Tweets from plants or pigeons pecking bread crumbs off a keyboard!
This class will use our collective Twitter interactions to create our very own Twitter Tale. In order to take part in the interactive section please bring along a smart phone, tablet or laptop to join in the fun on the evening. A working knowledge of Twitter and a Twitter account will allow you to participate in the interactive fun!
