With an array of objects to practice still life painting, this class will teach you techniques to accomplish vibrant paintings using acrylic markers.
Acrylic markers (the most known brand is POSCA markers) are water-based paint markers that have the opaque look of acrylic paint while still being precise and easy to use.
They’re a convenient medium to take travelling as they dry very quick and are suitable for all sorts of materials: wood, glass, metal, rocks, canvases, etc. and can be used in posters, paintings, lettering and so much more. Nowadays some even come with a brush tip for both finer and broader applications – giving you the convenience of achieving paint strokes without having to mix the paints from scratch.
If you’ve wanted to try them out but aren’t sure if they’re suitable for your art, come along and we’ll teach you some techniques for blending, layering to mix shades, and easily covering over mistakes from other mediums like watercolor.

Who will be Teaching?
Acanthus (Anther) Oria Low [they/them] is a collector of hobbies and a small-space suburban keeper of many species of unconventional animals, and chronic pain fighter. They are a foster carer for the Rabbit Sanctuary and are passionate about sharing environmentally friendly, low or no cost enrichment for animals.
