During Lunar New Year, tangyuan (glutinous rice balls) is a traditional Chinese dessert in sweet ginger soup, made and eaten with family and friends to symbolise unity, with their roundness and with their name 汤圆 being similar to the Chinese word for reunion, “tuányuán”. We will be making colorful peanut tangyuan to celebrate the new year festivities.
They are vegetarian, dairy free and (contrary to the English name) gluten free.
