**Please note: This is a two-week class taking place at 6:15pm on Thursdays 12th and 19th Sept. Fee covers both classes.**
What’s it all about?
Come and make your own silver pendant over two classes.
In the first week you will learn the technique of “lost wax casting”. This involves using wax to make a cast, shaping and forming the wax into your own unique design, and then casting it into sterling silver jewellery.
You can make a delicate, fine pendant or something chunky and layered. Chain not included.
Your teacher will take your wax designs to be cast in silver. Then in the second session you will refine and polish your silver pendant.
This is 100% beginner class and your beautiful teacher Qing will be with you every step of the way to help you make the ring of your dreams!
What will we cover?
Within this workshop you will learn:
- What is lost wax casting
- How to use the tools and waxes
- The dos and don’ts of casting
- The fundamentals of how to make a wearable piece of jewellery.
- How to make 2D and 3D designs
- How to buff and shine your pendant
- Local suppliers for chains, tools and jewellery fixings
Feel free to come with some inspiration images of styles of pendants that you like. We will also have examples for inspiration.
