What’s it all about?

Finding and crafting our life experiences into stories helps us make meaning. Talking our tales lets us explain who we are. Storytelling is fun, it’s fascinating, it’s meaningful.

What will we cover?

In this workshop you will explore your life for story material.

You will learn about story structure, theme and oral storytelling techniques. Then, apply these to a story of your choice and practice telling your story with other participants. Come to the class with a topic in mind (maybe a recent holiday or event, a work deadline, something your dog did… anything goes!) or decide on the focus of your story in the class.

Who will be teaching?

Kate Lawrence has a passion and purpose for personal storytelling. She is an experienced and trained facilitator, teacher and story telling coach, with warmth and charm. She has a deep and abiding faith in human stories and never tires of hearing them. She takes her craft seriously. She is currently vice President of Storytelling Australia Victoria, she regularly tells and teaches, and she is a Moth Story Slam winner.
