Discover the art of Leathercraft! In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of leatherworking while creating your own unique and sustainable leather pouch.
Using 100% repurposed leather, you’ll be guided through all aspects of this project, from creating the initial pattern, to stitching and embellishing, to create your own one-of-a-kind leather pouch that reflects your personal style.
Leather is a very durable and useful material. There’s rarely a reason to throw leather away! Learning how to make a simple purse is a great step in realising the wider potential of repurposing leather to get the very most out of the long lifecycle of this material.
This event will be half social chats with a bunch of like
minded queer people and half fun, educational and interactive workshop.
What we will cover?
In this hands-on workshop you will learn:
- Basic leatherworking tools and materials
- Simple pattern making
- Hole punching for stitching
- Mastering the saddle stitch technique
- Adding snap buttons and rivets for a professional finish.
- You will also learn more on types of leather, sustainable leather practices, emphasizing the importance of minimizing environmental impactand repurposing materials.

Who will be teaching?
Gosia is a leatherworker with a lifelong passion for crafting and restoring goods. Based in Melbourne, Reservoir she specializes in using
recycled leather to create custom products while promoting sustainable practices. With years of experience and a dedication, Gosia is excited to share her knowledge and expertise with aspiring leather enthusiasts.
