Has wearing a mask made you forget how to breathe in a “regular” way? (I breathe through the side of my mouth now!) Then Releasing Your Voice From The Year That Shall Not Be Named (2020) is the workshop for you.
Let’s face it, we’re all recovering from the epic year that was 2020. And now that we have our freedom and back to some type of “normal life”, our bodies and voice feel rusty and need some fine tuning.
In this workshop you’ll learn and participate in exercises to help ease the tension in your body, mouth and lungs to help you release your voice again to say whatever it is you want to say, that you haven’t been able to say, because you’ve had so much tension for so so long……(that was a long sentence, but you know I’ve been keeping that in for months!!!)
What will we cover?
There are 4 Components to the workshop to help you release your body and voice from the confines and restrictions of Lockdown.
Standing – You’ll learn exercises to release the legs, feet, ankles, shoulder, arms and neck.
Open your mouth – You’ll learn exercises to release the tension and emotion in your jaw and tongue.
Breathing – You’ll learn exercises to release your breathing and help you breathe deeply and fully into your lungs again.
Releasing voice – Finally you’ll combine all you’ve learnt and begin to free voice.
Who will be Teaching?
For her entire 20 year career, Angela Lumicisi has been about communication and connection. She is a musician, singer, performer, teacher, coach and cabaret writer. So performing, teaching or writing shows means she is all about connecting, persuading and evoking emotions.
Angela grew up in a giant Italian family, meaning if you didn’t’ speak up, you weren’t heard. But she knew she deserved to get heard. Through knockbacks, she struggled to keep to her belief and now she’s ready to help you believe in your voice.
Angela knows it’s easy to believe what you’re saying isn’t necessary. Are you thinking, why should people listen to me? If so, then this stops now. Because she believes if you have an opinion, message or belief, then you deserve to be heard.
