Well we have you covered with our Queer Quokkas’ pre-wedding classes!
Basically a hen/stag party without all the gendered stuff, in an inclusive space with delsi, proud queer teacher and LGBTQIA+ celebrant. (Yes, we did came up with the name and yes we had some fun with it)
We can help you plan a special class for the quokka-to-be, or arrange a whole day of activities in our space in the CBD or your selected venue. These classes are run by queers for queers!
Make gorgeous floral headpieces before setting off for lunch, learn a Neo burlesque choreography so you can kill it on the dance floor later that night, or create polymer clay accessories, cute cross stitches or sparkly bath bombs.

Our fun, casual classes are all one-off workshops and last around 75 minutes, which works great if you are planning a whole day or evening of activities.
After you have confirmed the details and selected your class, please use the booking form below and we’ll send you an invoice for payment of the deposit.

Please note there is a minimum of 10 attendees for private events.
Our venue, Laneway Learning Central, is located at Level 3, Room 17, 37 Swanston St (Nicholas Building) in Melbourne CBD.
It fits up to 30 people sat in a workshop set-up (chairs and tables) or up to 40 in a talk set-up (without tables).
For dancing or movement classes, up to 20 people work best.
We can also come to your house, selected venue or park (you might need a permit for public parks)
Regarding food, we are happy to arrange external catering for you or you can organise it separately.
Although we can create a private event out of most of our classes (depending on teacher availability, etc.) we have compiled some of the most popular ideas below.
Our venue can also be rented for extra hours at a rate of $35 per hour + GST.
We also have Hen party classes and Bucks Day classes if you want more inspiration.
Get creative and make your own earrings in our entertaining polymer clay class. You'll get to choose between a bunch of colours and bake your creations so you can wear them on your night out. You'll make one pair of marbled studs and one of drop earrings ($43 premium option including beads, brooches, pendants).

Learn how to make the coolest bath bombs ever! Choose from florals, rainbow or sparkly and go home with a lovely memento of the hen party.
Cost: $50 per person
A green thumb quokka-to-be? Then they will love our cute closed terrariums class! Learn everything to layer and maintain your own closed terrarium and add a little trinket to make it unique.
Cost: $48 per person
Make your own silk floral crown that will last forever! We will have a variety of foliage and faux flowers in a lovely colour scheme and leave the class with a gorgeous crown to keep on partying.
Cost: $54 per person
Cross-stitch is such a great craft to learn. It's easy and the results are so cute. In this class, you'll learn the basic stitches and start your personalised cross-stitch.
Cost: $43 per person
Make a statement with a lovely embroidered canvas! It can be about the quokka-to-be or we have lots of designs to choose from! You'll learn how to embroider canvas and go home with your cute piece.
Cost: $47 per person
Get ready to spice up your quokkas' event with our Burlesque dance class (suitable for all levels of fitness and ability)! Turn up in stilettos and learn the shimmy shake and other fun, sexy moves.
Cost: $35 per person
