What’s it all about?
Have you ever felt stuck in a conversation or in a relationship? As if you were unable to overcome obstacles and to move forward?
Active listening helps us to transform awkward conversations into new worlds of possibilities. We can use it to connect with others, and to learn more about ourselves.
What will we cover?
How does active listening work? And how can we use it in our own lives? This fun, interactive workshop will encourage you to use your own experiences to find out.
In this workshop we will look at:
- Non-verbal communication
- Emotions and communication
- Navigating awkward social moments
- Creative communication
We will work on our listening skills through exercises, discussion and reflection. Plus, we’ll learn about active listening theories.
Who will be teaching?
Gioia Caminada is a Learning and Development consultant and has worked in the area for about fifteen years. She believes that active listening is disruptive. She creates learning experiences and written material that empower people and communities to work collaboratively. By honing their active listening skills, they can make the impossible happen.
Gioia’s workshops are supported by a BA in Languages and Intercultural Communication, an MA in Migration Studies, certificates in participatory planning and language teaching, and speaking five languages. Find out more on her website.
