What’s it all about?

Have you got some old books lying around that you really don’t want but can’t quite bring yourself to throw away?

Fold, cut and glue your way to your own book art & sculpture by upcycling old books into incredible pieces you can display with pride!

What will we cover?

Join Louise from Paperlab.co as she shows you how to upcycle those dusty old novels into fab art pieces one fold at a time! Throughout the class Louise will give you some tips on the best books to use as well as what to look out for before you begin the meditative folding process she calls ‘folding therapy’. From cylindrical shapes to book bursts to spinning tops you will learn the basics on folding books into a variety of sculptures that look great on display and art installations.

She’ll also share some with you some of her favourite book artists and images of their work to inspire you for the night!

Lousie will supply a selection of old books, but if you have any of your own that you would like to use, feel free to bring them along.

Who will be teaching?

Louise (aka PaperLou) is a paper fanatic whose fascination with this medium began at the age of 5 with the introduction of kinder squares and clag glue. Over the years her paper engineering skills have soared to new heights and she’s spent endless hours folding, cutting and gluing away in her own paper paradise. With an extensive paper collection (that may or may not have taken over her apartment!) PaperLou loves exploring new ways to innovate with paper.

You can follow PaperLou on PinterestInstagram and Twitter and the PaperLab blog.
