What’s it all about?
Everyday eating has massive impacts on many aspects of sustainability. Looking for a simple and practical step you could take in your day-to-day life to reduce your impact on the planet? Why not start a food co-op?
Come and discover the real life experience of two local food co-opers, the impacts (be ready for some surprises and, we hope, inspiration!) on their local community and how you could easily do the same.
What will we cover?
Through story telling and interactive activities, we will share our story of starting local food (and other) co-ops and the impacts it has on our life and our neighbourhood. At the same time we will explore how YOU could do something similar and what may work for you in your own neighbourhood. We will provide you with tips and insights to help you succeed and have a little fun along the way!
Who will be teaching?
Mel and Pascale are active food co-opers who have reduced their trips to supermarkets, food and packaging wastage as well as their food bills by starting food co-ops in their neighbourhood. One day, happily chatting and counting their local blessings, they decided it was time to share further the fun of food co-oping.
