Come along and learn some introductory tips, tricks and tools to turn your ideas and observations into actual music. Leave with more confidence to get started, or renewed inspiration to keep on going.
This class is suitable for beginners! No singing or music experience necessary! Enthusiasm and interest in music certainly helps!
What will we cover?
Half interactive and half tips and tricks, in this practical class Johanna will take you on a very quick route to making music that says something to the world.
- Learn some basic, introductory music theory – we promise it’s not scary!
- Utilise your existing music preferences and experiences
- Follow some prompts and exercises to sharpen your musical senses – connecting ideas with feelings with sounds
- Gain tips, tricks and techniques for making songs that move people

Who will be teaching?
Johanna (she/they) is a singer songwriter who loves making music that says something to the world. She believes everyone has a song in them and that’s worth sharing!
Johanna came to music late in life and completed a Diploma of Music and a smattering of subjects of an Advanced Diploma. She reckons it’s not necessary to study music to make good and impactful music – after all, the Beatles didn’t! You can find her at www.johannascott.com
