What’s it all about?

Everyone loves a great story. And nothing conveys your purpose and values better than storytelling.

Facts and figures can appeal to the logical side of your audience’s brain, but sharing a story goes much further. Stories create the emotional investment and empathy necessary to build trust, support and true human connections.

Whether it’s in the classroom, at the office, or on a date, storytelling is a must-have skill. It’s the best way to leave a real impact and make meaningful connections. Through a mix of presentations and exercises, this inspiring workshop will introduce you to the fundamental aspects of storytelling. It will also help you to begin crafting your own story to use in your professional and personal lives.

What will we cover?

In this class we’ll look at:

  • What is a story? – basic architecture of narratives
  • Where should we tell stories? – different contexts and environments in which storytelling can be used (here’s a hint: everywhere!).
  • Who tells stories? – the role of storyteller and the listener (this is very important!).
  • How do we tell stories? – different approaches to crafting and delivering stories.

During the class we will look at our own professional or personal lives for story topics. We’ll then craft those ideas into a story and learn how to tell the story for maximum impact.

By the end of the workshop you will have a story to bring into the world.
