An Introduction to Junk Journalling with Cherie

Have you ever heard of Junk Journals? If you love old fashioned books and stationery then you’ll likely have a lot of fun with a Junk Journal. There’s not a singular definition, but they’re very fun to create and collate.

A Junk Journal is basically a book made and decorated through found, recycled and repurposed papers and ephemera, such as luggage tags, sewing cards, old letters and book pages that were found in your Grandma’s era. While highly decorated, there is still room to function as a journal and keepsake.

Your teacher Cherie loves paper. She makes it, dyes it, decorates it, collects and repurposes it. In this class Cherie will introduce you to Junk Journals, and begin your journey into crafting one of your own.

Supplied with your own craft pack filled with hand dyed, aged papers /cards, buttons, ribbon, lace, vintage images, stamped pieces, doilies, decorative card, text and sheet music, you will have so much fun learning ways to make all these elements come together as Junk Journal pages in class, and perhaps to make a range of your own unique beautiful vintage stationery.

All materials provided, just come and have fun!

      Who will be teaching?

I have been in love with paper crafting ever since my friend made me some recycled paper stationery for Christmas back in the early 90’s. Since then I have been obsessed and have explored many  paper crafts from Papermaking, Journal & Photo Album Making and currently vintage paper crafts. I teach classes so to stay in touch, sign up to my Newsletter or follow me on Facebook / Instagram (links can be found on my website) https://pixiepapercompany.com.au/
