What’s it all about?

Animation is a surprisingly young art form and yet has been charming young and old alike since its inception. We’ve all grown up with characters we love and and love to hate, but what went into their creation on the big screen? How do you transform a drawing, a puppet, or a piece of clay into a living creature?

What will we cover?

This class will start with the history of animation, and the principles that make a good animated performance so appealing. We will look at classic and new examples of some great animated sequences and then, using our new found powers, make our own traditional, hand drawn animation! No prior drawing experience required what-so-ever.

Who will be teaching?

jarrodJarrod has been working in animated feature films for the past 5 years, on projects such as Happy Feet, The Lego Movie and Spongebob Squarepants. Diving into the worlds and characters he loved so much as a child, he has loved surrounding himself with people and places that inspire him to create new icons and stories for people to follow.
