What’s it all about?
Do you like making great stuff from scratch? Thought about bacon curing before but never known where to start?
Well it turns out that making your own bacon is actually pretty awesome. It’s tastier, it’s cheaper and it impresses your friends! Plus, with a bit of know-how, the right equipment and the ingredients, it’s also really quite easy.
What will we cover?
We’ll take you through the process of bacon, what curing means and what is actually happening from a scientific perspective. We’ll touch on the types of flavours you can add to bacon like sriracha hot sauce, bourbon and even coffee. We’ll have some samples to pass around, too. At the end of the class, you’ll create your own flavor and take your personalized bacon home with you.
Who will be teaching?
Adrian is founder of BaconSmith, an easy to use kit which helps you make bacon at home. Once you’ve made your own bacon, you’ll never want to buy it from the supermarket again.
