What’s it all about?

Bead embroidery is a type of bead-work that uses a needle and thread to stitch beads to a surface of fabric, suede, or leather. It is an embellishment that can be used in many applications and can achieve incredible looking results.

Traditionally, bead embroidery has been used on clothing and decorative textiles. It may be used in jewelry with the addition of structural supports such as bracelet bands. Other clothing accessories such as belt buckles and handbags can be embroidered with beads, and household items such as pillows or boxes may be projects you want to take up.

What will we cover?

In this hands-on workshop you will learn the basics, from approach to materials, what you need to start embroidering, useful stitches, how to sew beads and sequins, how to create shapes and flowers.  Throughout sample exercises we’ll explore techniques and tricks and let the creativity flow. You will have all the skills you need to take it home to finish.
