What’s it all about?

Do you have that particular craving (or know someone who often does) and want to add a more personalised touch to the mix? The online guides to chocolate making look horrifying, but here you are, gearing up to do it all in just over an hour! (And with a bit of practice it’ll be quicker!)

Best of all, you’ll have a bit of chocolate to take home with you when the night is over and (hopefully!) have a lot of fun.

What will we cover?

We’ll be walking through the procedures involved in making chocolate at home, in various (easy) ways without any specialised equipment and just a few basic recipes. We will be using cacao butter and cacao powder but we’ll also talk through how to melt regular chocolate from the shops as well.

Here’s just a short list of things we will be covering.

  • Basic recipes and ideas
  • Using chocolate moulds
  • Creating chocolates with fillings
  • How to get different flavours and textures
  • How different ingredients affect chocolate and how to add them
  • Getting creative (the messy and fun part!)
  • Polarising people and making them squeal in delight or gag

Who will be teaching?

Andrew believes that experimenting in the kitchen is always good fun with cuisines of all cultures and sweets (those magic potions you make as a child actually teach you a trick or two) but also likes to do it outside of the kitchen too. He writes poetry and letters, takes things apart and puts other things together, expresses himself through the arts and learns the science for how things work (or break). Professionally, the boring bits, Andrew has worked as an IT consultant, in admin, construction work and other odd bits. His passions will always revolve around people, getting to know them and sharing expressions of ourselves. A genuine smile is the most gratifying experiences he could ask for and from there he shows his appreciation in various ways.
