What’s it all about?

Think you can’t draw? Think you shouldn’t draw? WRONG! There’s more to drawing than making pictures of things that look like what they are. Come along for an adventure packed evening of drawing fun and explore a world of drawing possibilities that you can use to make your life better, happier, more fun, more friendly and generally all round awesome. No skills required, all skill levels welcome.

What will we cover?

We will be looking at the wonderful art of drawing from a number of different perspectives and gaining inspiration from talented artists who’ve made great careers with their left-of-centre drawing practices.

More importantly, we’ll be doing a number of practical activities and experiments which use drawing as a way to unlock your creative thoughts, to share your ideas, to communicate with other people, to engage with the world around you and to have a wonderful time.

There will be mountains of different materials for you to play with; find the medium that you like best – without spending a fortune on art materials first. There will also be plenty of room to explore different drawing styles and find a method that works for you.

This class is based on developing drawing practice as a useful tool and a fun activity rather than a technical skill, so it’s promised to be a great night whether you’re a proficient drawer, or you last picked up a pencil way back in primary school.
