Would you like to cozy up with some homemade Masala Chai and delicious onion fritters – otherwise known as Pakode?

Have an evening with cooking queen Sarita who will teach you the right way to make the perfect cup of Kadak Indian Chai and delicious savoury fritters called Pakodas.

Join this live and interactive workshop to explore the world of spices, flavours, and aromas of Indian Cooking.

What will we cover?

In this online workshop you will:

– Learn how to make Indian Masala Chai and Pyaz ke Pakode (Onion fritters) from the comfort of your home.

– Explore different varieties of teas, brewing style and how to mix spices to brew the perfect cup of Masala Chai. 

– Have the opportunity to ask lots of questions in this live and interactive class.

What will I need?

    You can cook along with Sarita or sit back and enjoy the live cooking demonstration.

    If you’d like to cook along, feel free to have the below ready to go.

    EQUIPMENT
    Small Sauce Pan; Mortar & Pestle/ Hand Blender (which ever is available); Tea strainer; tea cup/glass

    Stainless steel bowl; Chopping board; Knife; Slotted spoon/ Spider; Heavy bottom Vessel for frying; Absorbent paper.

    INGREDIANTS
    Full Cream Milk; Tea Leaves/ Tea dust (Brand: Red Label available in Indian Stores); Sugar; (Spice Mix: fennel seeds, black pepper corn, cardamom, clove, cinnamon); piece of fresh ginger.

    Gram flour/ chickpea flour; Rice flour; Onion; Green chilly; Coriander leaves; Ginger – small piece; Red chilly powder; Turmeric powder; Garam Masala; Cooking/ Bicarb soda; Salt; Oil for frying.

      Who will be teaching? 

      Sarita (home name Affaf Ali) (she/her) is a self trained home Chef and food enthusiast with 10 plus years of cooking experience. Following her passion for cooking she is currently pursuing a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.

      She specializes in different kinds of Indian Cuisines. She has won several contests. She has more than 200 written recipes, few passed on by her mum and few are her own.
