Whether you’re bursting with ideas, have a personal story to tell, or want to finally give writing a go, this workshop will help you kickstart your project and give you guidance for making 2023 the year you write your book!

Learn about the process from a published author – everything from first drafts to editing to feedback, and get tips for relieving the anxiety and uncertainty that can come with new creative projects.

This is a workshop for novice writers who are in the early stages of a novel or memoir, or are keen to start one.

What will we cover?

  • How to get that first draft onto the page
  • Where to start with revision
  • How to know when it’s time to get feedback – and where to find it
  • Common pitfalls and how to avoid them
  • You’ll have a chance to discuss your challenges and ask lots of questions.

By the end, you’ll feel confident about tackling your novel or memoir project.

What to bring

  • A notebook and pen work best, though you may prefer to write on your device. Whatever works for you!
