What’s it all about?

What the hell is a momo? Trust us, you want to find out!

Momos are a type of dumpling that originate from Nepal and Tibet. What makes momos so special over other kinds of dumplings are the spices. So, if you have more of a spicy tooth than a sweet tooth and go crazy for a dumpling or three then momos might be just what you need.

What will we cover?

We’ll learn all about the spices and preparation involved for the stuffing of our momos. Wrapping is the other main part, it looks difficult but it is very easy to do. We will demonstrate different techniques for wrapping momos and at the end of the class we will cook and enjoy them with some traditional chutney (but don’t worry we will give you the recipe so you can make your very own chutney as soon as you get home!)

Who will be teaching?

hemaHema Gurung came to Australia from Nepal 6 years ago for study and loves to cook. She loves to share her knowledge of traditional cuisine with others but enjoys cooking most of all because she loves to eat.
