Become a ‘Real’ Scientist

You may have heard about citizen science, it’s also known as ‘public participation in scientific research’ and is any science project where the data is largely or even wholly collected by amateur scientists.

A current citizen science project, being run as part of National Science Week, is calling on Australians to travel back in time and use ships’ logs to uncover information about our global climate. You can find out more and get involved at The Weather Detective website.

You can do it from the comfort of your computer from anywhere in Australia and you’ve got until September 5th.

And if that creates an in itch that needs more scratching, check out Zooniverse for even more Citizen Science projects.

Eureka!
