What’s it all about?

Crochet ain’t just for your Grandma. From accessories to amiguri and crazy teapot covers, crochet is for the young and old alike. After this class, in no time you’ll be able to craft all the yarn necklaces and tiny potted cacti your heart desires.

What will we cover?

We’ll start with the absolute basics, like how to hold your crochet hook and how to tie a slip knot. Then we’ll learn how to ‘chain’ – the basis of all crochet projects – and then the single and double crochet stitches. Depending on how we go, we might even attempt the Granny Square!

The class includes a crochet hook and a ball of yarn.

Who will be teaching?

Kim has been crafting since she was young, starting with a small hankie for her teddy bear. She now makes handcrafted accessories for her business Yarn Cantina, and crochets on public transport to help with the stress of commuting. If she looks familiar it’s because she is one of the founders of Laneway Learning.
