What’s it all about?

Most of us are directly affected by our surroundings but we don’t realise just how much. This taster will give you some of the tools to improve your personal environment; be it your home or office. (It’s been proven to improve morale!)

Ever wondered why you like one restaurant over another when they both have great food? Sure it’s the design, but what aspects are you noticing? Why do you prefer the look of someone else’s home rather than your own? When you can recognise the details you can introduce then into your own environment.

What will we cover?

In this class we will walk through a process to turn an average room into a great one. Learn ten steps to improve your space through the use of:

  • Colour (how to be enriching without overpowering)
  • Furniture (simple layouts and sourcing on a budget)
  • Lighting (like ‘accessorising with jewellery’ the right lighting can make a boring room seem spectacular at night)
  • Use of scale – texture and pattern
  • Creating a sense of fun and art

We try to some exercises mixing and matching patterns, furniture, lighting and colour.

The goal is to learn the skills to “dress” your space and improve what you already have rather than renovating.
