What’s it all about?
Public speaking – why do so many of us balk at the thought of it? Why do we espouse and believe crazy advice around it like, “imagine the audience naked”? The truth is, public speaking isn’t as difficult as you’ve been lead to believe. Forget all the clichés and unoriginal ideas. With authenticity, creativity and a little knowledge about human behaviour, you too can use the knowledge and wisdom you’ve acquired over the years to give a great talk.
What will we cover?
During this fun, informative and interactive class you’ll learn a whole bunch of things, including:
- Why public speaking should matter to you personally (and how it’s linked to your purpose)
- The 3 key things to giving a great talk. How to pick a topic that brings out the best in you
- Insights into how an audience learns
- How your way of being engages or distracts your audience
- Why powerpoint is NOT your friend, and
- How to deal with the problems that can arise during a talk (including crowd control).
Who will be teaching?
Cece Ojany is the director and coach at The Main Protagonist. She has run classes, workshops and seminars to a variety of audiences and organisations (such as SEEK, Lululemon Athletica). She’s also been an invited guest speaker at events like Pecha Kucha and Live Your Legend Local.
