Is your secret ingredient to everything, bacon? In your weaker moments, have you referred to bacon as “Man’s best friend”? Well, why not unlock the secrets of this tasty gift of the gods and learn how to do it yourself?! Let us show you all you need to know to make your very own delicious bacon at home and you’ll never go back to the store bought stuff ever again.

What will we cover?

  • Defining ‘bacon’. What is it?
  • Curing 101 – including safety and good practise
  • Step by step process for making a basic dry-cured, unsmoked streaky (belly) bacon
  • Info on other variations to the basic bacon

Who will be teaching?

John, Armin & Mat are all round good guys and also the co-organisers of ‘Melbourne Meat-Up‘ – a community for people who are curious and passionate about the art, science and craft of home- or house- cured and smoked meats. We coordinate & host not-for-profit learning, sharing & social events for our members.
