What’s it all about?
To survive and even flourish in difficult times requires flexible thinking and the ability to change behaviour in response to changed circumstances. But change is uncomfortable and disturbing, which is why many resist change and are left struggling in a new world. Using Feldenkrais and other mind-body training methods we will enhance your readiness to shift out of habitual patterns and be ready to move in new directions. We will learn how to enhance creativity and resourcefulness and to be comfortable with feeling uncomfortable.
What will we cover?
Movement explorations to recognise habitual postures and patterns and to play with these patterns. Getting comfortable and clear about transcending those habits to allow new possibilities. In learning to weaken the grip of postural habits we learn to get comfortable with changing life behaviours as well.
We will explore how to rapidly change direction, gently and naturally so it becomes a part of your repertoire of adaptable behaviours.
In this class we will
- Discover how to play with and learn from your fears
- Build flexibility in body and mind
- Get comfortable with problem solving
- Build on your own creativity and resourcefulness
- Hear stories of adaptability and survival
Moshe Feldenkrais: Find your true weakness and surrender to it. Therein lies the path to genius. Most people spend their lives using their strength to overcome or cover up their weaknesses. Those few who use their strengths to incorporate their weaknesses, who don’t divide themselves, those people are very rare. In any generation there are a few and they lead their generation.
