In this unique workshop we will explore speaking with freedom and singing with others. This will expand your creative expression and find your natural voice.
What will we cover?
We will learn exercises in release, breath work, physicality and group harmony. This will build your awareness and sensitivity of your voice, in the search for embodied and free expression.
Suitable for anyone wishing to deepen their connection to their voice and learn how to wield its power.
Who will be teaching?
Janie Gibson is an actor, theatre-maker and teaching artist. She has a background in Eastern European ensemble theatre, Shakespeare performance and devised theatre-making. Her voice work is grounded in the vocal practices of traditional folk and polyphonic singing, ensemble theatre and the principles of Freeing the Natural Voice by Kristin Linklater. Janie has performed internationally in Poland, Belgium, Greece, the UK and the USA. Most recently she wrote and performed a new work ‘The Voices of Joan of Arc’ at the Next Wave Festival in Melbourne. Janie is currently offering private vocal tuition in speaking and singing.
