What will we cover?

In this hands-on class we will cover:

  • The history and cultural significance of Henna
  • The basics of cone
handling and fundamental design application techniques
  • Design development
  • Practice application (on paper) and final application (on your skin if you choose)
  • By the end of the workshop,
you’ll be adorning your skin with your own stunning creations!

Henna paste contains natural ingredients that can cause skin reactions in some individuals. If you have a history of
skin sensitivity, allergies, or dermatological issues, it is strongly advised to perform a patch test before applying henna to a larger area of your skin. You can certainly attend the class and opt out of having henna on your skin.

      Who will be teaching?

Chandani (she/her) is a self-taught henna artist based in Melbourne. Coming from a Hindu background, she was introduced to henna at a young age but created her first design in 2013. Since then she has been honing her skills, adding intricacy to her work.

Chandani has participated in various markets and wedding events sporadically. Her passion for teaching others the art of henna ledher to Laneway Learning. You can find her on her online at @materialsandmehndiby where she showcases not only her henna creations but also other artworks featuring mosaic, resin, and recently, silver ring designs.
