Ever wondered whether the titles you see on websites, magazine covers or albums are hand or computer made? 

In this class we will dive into the process of creating letter pieces, understanding the differences between calligraphy, lettering and typography.

You will also get to practice some fun lettering techniques so you can start making your own awesome fonts!

What will we cover?

The aim of the class will be to understand the differences between calligraphy, lettering and typography.

We will start by identifying each of these techniques and dive into:
– The principles of calligraphy
– The key concepts of lettering
– The typographic eye, what makes a good letter

You will then have the opportunity to create your own lettering piece!

All materials including a special brush pen will be included in your ticket price!

Who will be Teaching?

Paula (she/her) is an Engineer by day and lettering artist in her free time. 

She started in the world of calligraphy by creating her own wedding invitations back in 2015 and has developed her skills into lettering and sign painting over the last 6 years. 

Her designs have made it onto T-shirts, stickers and mugs all the way to the US.
