What’s it all about?

Want to win friends and influence people? Give them a pair of handmade fingerless gloves and they will love you forever! Or, y’know, keep them for yourself.

In this practical workshop, you will learn how to make a pair of simple fingerless gloves. Perfect for this chilly weather.

What will we cover?

In this practical, hands-on class, we’ll start by casting on – the beginning of any knitting project. Then we’ll learn how to read a simple pattern together, and refresh our memories on how to:

  • Knit
  • Purl
  • Yarn over.

If we get time, we’ll also cover ‘ribbing’ and how to finish off your project by sewing it up.

You should end the class with one glove made, or if time doesn’t allow, at least the knowledge and confidence to finish your gloves off at home.

All you need is a can-do attitude and the most basic of knitting skills and your favourite yarn and needles (we suggest 3.25mm needles and 5 ply yarn).
