What’s it all about?

Have you ever tried Korean food? It’s delicious and most Korean food is also good for your health, double win!

Two of the most well-known traditional dishes of Korea are kimchi and kimbap. Kimchi is a traditional fermented Korean side dish and there are endless varieties. It’s made up of vegetables and seasonings, including cabbage, radish and cucumber. Kimbap or gimbap is bite-sized slices of rice (bap) rolled in gim (or kim – sheets of dried laver seaweed) with various other ingredients.

At this class we’ll learn how to make a few different kinds of kimchi and kimbap and get a real taste of these delicious foods.

What will we cover?

At the beginning of the class, we will take some time to understand the process how kimchi and kimbap are made. Then we will explore a few different kinds of kimchi and kimbap. We’ll work through the recipes so you can make your own kimchi and kimbap at home.

Finally, we will taste each kimchi and kimbap dish to truly understand the world of Korean food!

Who will be teaching?

Rachel ChungRachel Chung comes from South Korea, the country that is full of delicious and healthy cuisines. Rachel is a health coach – focusing on diet, personal training and nutrition plans – and colour therapist who consults in beauty such as skin, body and personal styling. She is the co-founder of Essence by Rachel Chung, specialising in global image consultancy, colour therapy and health coaching.
