What’s it all about?

Poetry is in our lives all over this world. We give and take poetry to and from the people, the places and the laneways of our lives. Poetry is a music that is spoken, written and played with feelings, ideas and thoughts made of words.

What will we cover?

This workshop is a general session about poetry for people who have all kinds of experience, whether plenty, some or none.

It is an opportunity to find out more about poetry and the many different kinds there are being created and presented in today’s rapidly changing world, on the page, on the stage, online, etc. The class will include an individual and a collective poetry exercise.

Active contribution and participation is as encouraged as it is welcome.

Who will be teaching?

Hamish Danks Brown a.k.a Danksta Dowunder is a poet who has been writing, performing and publishing prolifically for over 10 years. He has recently returned from a round-the-world poetic pilgrimage during which he performed at various events with other artists across North America, Europe and Asia.
