What will we cover?
This lentil soup is versatile and you can adjust it to your taste and requirements. We will cover the basic ingredients required to make the soup, as well as all the additional things you can add to make your own version of the soup.
What will you need?
This recipe serves two. Please prepare the following ingredients before the class starts.
SOUP
- 2 tbsp butter or olive oil
- 1 medium white onion
- 1/2 cup red lentils
- 4-5 cups water/vegetable stock
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tsp tomato paste
- Salt and pepper to taste
TOPPINGS
Dried mint / Coriander , Lemon juice, Chilli flakes
OPTIONAL ADDITIONS
- 1/4 white rice
- Potato, carrot or/and celery
- Chilli powder
- Garlic
EQUIPMENT
- Pot which is deep enough for 6 or more cups of water
- Chopping board and knife
- Ladle/Stirring spoon
- Teaspoon and other utensils you feel you may need
