What’s it all about?

Some call Challa bread the best thing about Jewish food and it’s easy to see why: it’s the ultimate in addictive baked goodness, comfort and sweetness. Challa bread is baked especially for the Sabbath (the day of rest) and is braided in a unique and festive way. It is eaten as part of traditional ceremonies (or any time you crave delicious carbs) and holds special significance in Jewish culture.

What will we cover?

We will make our own Challa from scratch, learn a special technique to braid it (yes, we are going to braid bread!), taste authentic Challa goodness, and talk about its lively and rich significance in Jewish culture.

At the end of the class, you will get your own beautifully braided Challa dough to take home and bake yourself – and the scents of Challa baking in the oven will be sure to fill your house with addictive sweetness. You are welcome.

Who will be teaching?
