Compost! If you’ve ever watched Gardening Australia then you’ve heard this endearing exclamation from former-host Peter Cundall. Yes, compost can evoke this much enthusiasm and excitement from gardeners! But what if you’re just starting out?

Compost adds so many nutrients to our soil, but no one wants a stinky bin of rotting food scraps on their kitchen bench, or a dormant pile of leaves filling up their compost bin.

So come and join Simone to get all the tips to get the most out of composting. Hint: rotting is not the same as compost!

You’ll be shouting COMPOST! enthusiastically in no time.

What will we cover?

This online class will provide an overview of composting!

  • What is compost
  • Why we should compost
  • Carbon and nitrogen components and ratios, and what good compost looks (and smells) like
  • Kitchen and garden composting
  • Foods and materials to avoid
  • Maintenance, pests and bugs
  • How you can use your compost

You’ll learn some handy tips to get the most out of your kitchen and garden waste.
