Polymer clay is an accessible, colourful and versatile material – a lot of fun to use, but even better with some introductory tips to get you going.

There are different types of clays and bake times, and different techniques to create shapes, blend colours, emboss, and express your colourful polymer visions!

In this class we will focus on creating jewellery from slabs of decorated polymer clay. On a thin spread of flat polymer clay you can add all sorts of colours and shapes which are then rolled together to create a consistent sheet of patterned polymer. You can then make different sorts of jewellery from your slab using cutters.

There are no rules when it comes to your design – whatever you create is singularly yours!

What will we cover?

In this class we will learn to:

  • Condition the clay
  • Cut out shapes
  • Mix colours – creating effects or new colours
  • Lay out our slab design
  • Roll our slab design
  • Bake the polymer, plus tips on how to do this at home
  • Use jewellery connectors
