If you visit galleries in Australia and around the world, you will often see prints made by artists using engraved copper or zinc plates.

You can do this at home but with an easy hack – using milk cartons or juice boxes!

In this workshop you will learn how to design an image for printmaking, engrave your milk box plate, ink it, and then make your own limited edition prints!

In this online class we will:

  • Cover the basics of etching printmaking technique using a milk or juice box
  • How to design and compose your image
  • Demonstrate a couple of engraving techniques
  • How to ink and print with everyday materials you have at home

  • An empty and clean milk carton or juice box
  • Compass or needle
  • Box-cutter or scissors
  • Pencil
  • Paper – Any thick paper is ok
