What’s it all about?

Ever wonder how to start a garden without paying for plants? Join this interactive lesson on how to cut, divide and grow seeds. From the science to the practice, after the workshop you will have the necessary knowledge to propagate any plant you like.

What will we cover?

In this class we will look at the three types of propagation: seeds, cuttings and division. We will learn everything from how to pick ripe seeds, to why plants grow from cuttings, to how to choose the right propagation technique. Be prepared to get your hands a little dirty!

If you have gardening gloves and secateurs at home then it would be great if you could bring them along.

Who will be teaching?

David Sparks studied Ecology and Botany at the University of Queensland. He has had 6 years experience in ecological restoration and environmental education, and has worked at St. Kilda Indigenous Nursery for over a year. He is currently also studying Graduate Diploma in Adult education at RMIT.
