What’s it all about?

Do you make your own bread, are you bored of traditional baking methods, or do you just think baking is too hard? This class is a journey through the wonderful world of baking with a twist. Come down and you will discover creative and easy new ways of baking – including how to bake bread in a frypan.

What will we cover?

You will find out how to make your own natural sour yeast and how to keep it alive. We’ll then go on to show you different recipes and unconventional ways of baking, from Bat-Bot bread (Google it – you won’t find it) to delicious biscuits in 5 minutes. Finally, you will learn about a special pizza and sweet bread we bet you’ve never tried before. And then comes the best part – tasting all of our unconventionally baked goods!

Who will be teaching?

FrancescaFrancesca Zaccarelli is an Italian postgraduate student in Political Science, with a specialisation in food policy. She has attended professional courses in the organoleptic evaluation of food and beekeeping. However, her passion for food is not just theoretical; for three generations her family has run a top Italian delicatessen and in her spare time she loves to cook traditional recipes that have been passed down to her from her parents.
