What’s it all about?

Ever been told a great story about your grandparents and ached to write down all the details—but never got around to it?

Sometimes we forget that the most interesting people in our life are our family. We want to help you discover your grandparents and their life stories in a way you have never known before. We will help you spark interesting conversations with the aim of creating a wonderful story to be documented for future generations.

What will we cover?

You will discover your inner journalist; giving hints and tips on interview technique and how to write a story for publication. We will explore writing technique and show you how to break down your interview. Document your grandparents’ story for future generations.

Who will be teaching?

Bev Wilkinson is the founder of Celebrate Living History, an organisation focused on connecting generations to document elders’ stories for the future. Bev is highly motivated and passionate about preserving and sharing the stories of older Australian’s as too often these tales go forgotten and untold.

She has previously worked with students from high school to tertiary levels, and has a strong partnership with both Swinburne University and Griffith University. In 2012, Bev created an exhibition in Frankston to showcase the stories of seniors in the area. Bev also has a background in aged care and is a qualified personal care attendant. She is excited to share her knowledge and passion for documenting stories.
