What’s it all about?

Virginia Woolf is one of the foremost modernists of the twentieth century, and one of the greatest feminist English writers throughout history.

During the interwar period, Woolf was a significant figure in literary and intellectual society. She was a key member of London literary society and a central figure in the influential Bloomsbury Group of intellectuals. Her works have influenced generation upon generation and still hold significant lessons and insight into our contemporary society.

What will we cover?

In this lesson we will:

  • Explore the history of Woolf’s life and works.
  • Become better acquainted with several of her texts.
  • Explore feminist theory in relation to Woolf’s works.
  • Consider and discuss how these texts relate to today’s society.
