What’s it all about?
Making baskets is meditative, easy and fun. It is one of most well-known crafts in the history of humanity and examples of it appear in most indigenous cultures. Coiled baskets are typical of Australian aboriginal culture as well as South America, Middle East and large parts of Africa. They can be made with natural fibres or add raffia, wool or fabric to make them more colourful.
Basket weaving is also quite rewarding as there is nothing better than finishing your project and having a lovely custom home decor to show off!
What will we cover?
In this workshop we will:
- Go through the basics of basket weaving:
- How to start off your basket depending on what final shape you want.
